Show Smithfield. The household of ono of our townsmen, towns-men, Thomas W. Cragun, was thrown into deepest gloom and sadness by the ruthless monster death-bearing death-bearing away the light, joy, sunshine sun-shine and life of the house, Vcmla, the household baby. Vcnda Cragun was born March, 1002, and died May 1(1, 1004. All that aching but loving hearts and ready hand could do was done but proved ot no avail and darling little Vcnda sank calmly and peacefully to rest after a severe and tcrriblo selgoof diphtheria. Tho family though deeply grieving over tho loss of the treasure arc reconciled, recon-ciled, and feel to say, "The Lord glv-cth, glv-cth, tho Lord takcth, and blessed be his name forever," and that "They have each heard a voice 'twas the voice of their God: I love thee, 1 lovothee, pass under tho rod." Only a baby! Yet who may say Of tho hopes that arc burled with It today? Of the dreams of the future 'joy and bliss Laid in tho dust, with that last fond kiss? O baby! Yet who may speak of thu Love these little ones awake Savo those who lay them In sorrow away Llko tho chastened ones who sec such a day. Sunny hill. |
