H Mrs. MaryXsklesen, an old-time rcs- ident, died or general debility last 'Thursday, and was buried Sunday.She -had been a resident of Richmond for H 37 years. She possessed wonderful vitality. She. had, until the last few months, beon ms hale and hearty as any young perfcon, with the exception - of a cancer "vliich had given her some trouble.She with her husband emlgrat- cd from Denmark that they might be with the body of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has i made Richmond her home ever since. -She has always remained true to the principles that she had embraced In vher native land. She has ever been -willing to sacrifice her own feelings that she might make otficrs happy. She leaves a family of live to mourn their loss. A large number of citizens H gathered at the home of her daughter, H Mrs. Miiry Tripp, heie words of con-H con-H solation were spoken by S. C. Nelson, V L. C. Jehnsou, J. J. Sheplicrd and A. Upon his death she went to H live with blends In Topeka. About H one year ago she was taken III and H -could got no lcllcf. Her Illness con-H con-H tinned until a week ago when death relieved her of her stilTuilng. The 'body was accompanied licie by a sister H .from England, wlio has been at the H bedside of her sister for tholast month. Funeral services was held in the meet- ing house. Woids of comfott and praise were spoken to the beieaed. -She leaves a son.a daughter and a host H -of friends. Although the death sum-H sum-H tmons came to Mrs. Hair before old age alio has not lived In vain and was pre-H pre-H pared to go. She has always been nowu as a good, upright Christian woman and was always trying to help her fellow creatures. Miss Jennie Ralney and Mr. W. W. Hendricks returned from their llrst trip oast.where they have been for the Utah Condensed Milk Factory. They have had very good success thus far and were successful In placing a great many orders for condensed milk. They leave for Idaho tomorrow. Miss Nellie Hendilcks came home last week. She has been teaching school in Grantsville the past jear.She has been succeesful In her work and has a strong Invitation to teach In the same place next j car, but has not accepted ac-cepted as yet. The Alumni Association or the Richmond Rich-mond schools is preparing for a good time. Their banquet will be held on Friday, May 27. The committee, Asa Hullcn, Nellie Thompson and F. S. Schow, are working haul to make the affair a success. Mr. George O. Webb and his charm-ng charm-ng wife entertained a number of their friends Friday owning. A couple of veryunlquo games weie plajed, after which a line lunch was served. All wont.home feeling that it was good to hac been theie. Mr. Frank Whitehead and wife came up from Dcsciet last week. They have been away from Richmond for a number of years, and expect to spend a few weeks before returning. Mr. Orion Robinson sold out his In-terest In-terest In the steam thresher to Mr. Hateman. He went to Logan Tuesday and purchased one of his own which he expects to run next fall. Mr. Albert Fisher and wife relumed from Salt Lake to make their lesidence In Richmond. Their many fi lends arc glad to see them again. Miss Ablin Reese, of Hilgham city, made a sister, Mrs. Lorln A. Merrill, a visit Saturday and Sunday, F. A.Neuberger placed three White sewing machines In Richmond last Week. The people of Richmond are very well pleased with the outcomuor the Hendilcks-Claytoncase. We have always al-ways found Mr. Hendilcks a strictly honest person and could not entertain the- Idea for a moment that he was guilty or helping himself to the county funds. Avit. |
