In tho center of tho button nro tho initials "G. W.," nnd nbovo thorn, In n scroll, tho words "Long Mvo tho President." Tho button was found near tho Llttlo Llt-tlo Kcnnobec river, In Machlns. Tho Stream Is so-called because settlers from tho Konnobec went thero and established es-tablished tholr homo during tile war of tho ruvolutlon. Among thorn was Hon-Jnmln Hon-Jnmln Foss, grandfather of tho owner of tho button, who built n log cabin over tho spot where the button was found.
