Show Trains of Machines. The magnitude of the new Singer plant In South Bend and the output of sewing machines by the big company com-pany through Its various agencies are matters of which very few people anywhere any-where have much knowledge. Tho fact that the company now sells 1,500,-000 1,500,-000 sewing machines annually seems almost Incredible, but such is the case. The factory In South Bend, which covers an area of 80) acres, Is the distributing point for the middle west. Many large shipments have been made since Jan. 1 and two consignments con-signments were sent out quite recently. recent-ly. The first of theso shipments was a 25 carload lot made on April 30. In the cars were 2,850 complete machines packed In crates assembled ready for use. Their destination was represented repre-sented in many points in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Ohio. The big train of machines left this city over the Lake Shore railroad. The second big train load also consisted con-sisted of twenty-live cars, loaded with 2,552 Singer Sewing machines. They were sent to different points in Wisconsin, Wis-consin, Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, Colorado, Montana, Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska and South Dakota. This consignment was shipped May 0.
