Show Journal Makes False Statements. Retelling to Republican administration, adminis-tration, The Journal sa)s: "It has never passed a single act that made It easier for the working man to make a living. Rut its legislation has resulted result-ed In enabling the special few to tax the clothes off his back, deny his wife and chlldicn the neccssaiy food for their pioper sustenance and put bevond the leach of any wage earner the possibility of an education for his posterity." Such Idiotic ravings of Democratic newspapers Is so ably le-futed le-futed by the universal emplo)ment of worklngmen at high wages and the extiaordlnaiy advantages In an educational educa-tional way now cnjov'cd by the children child-ren of even the poorest of the pool woiklnginen, that it seems unnecessary unneces-sary to reply, except to biand the vviitcr of such infamous, outiagcous and inexcusable misstatements, us enemies of the government and the people. Ry attempting to stir up discontent dis-content thtoiigli false and mallciousl) paitlsan statements of this natuie, a writer proves himself unlit to preside over the cditott.il depaitment of an almanac he can not b" a ft lend to I his pail) nor to the great union which ,ls founded upon the pilnclplesof lib-i lib-i erty, truth, honor, and the paper that j picscntssueh ltiateiial to its leadeis must neccssarll) be branded as the !)ellowestof tho)c)lovv. Is It not a fact that child-cm child-cm of all men are enjoying educational educa-tional advantages today that were novel theirs before? Is It not true that the universal employment of the worklngmen Is enabling them to send a greater number of children to school at tills time than ever before? The Journal Is outrageously lankand docs Its cause no good by making such vindictive falsifications. The country is enjoying a prosperity today that compares favorably with the best times the country ever knew, and mere assertions to the contrary must fade away before self-evident truth. Today, any man desiring employment can have It, and at a fair wage. We will not contend tluit the working-man working-man receives as high wages as he deserves, de-serves, but. compared with wages at any other time in the history of the counlty, he is being well paid. He not only makes a living, but has money left for luxuries. Statistics piove that the worklngmen of the United States spend more money for pleasure and luxuries than the worklngmen work-lngmen of other counttles receive. There aie no soup-houses today;evcry-body today;evcry-body Is happy and contented. We ate wonderfully blessed and the bowlings of Democratic disgruntles is In the natuie of ingratitude. Instead of kicking at having prospetlty thrust upon them they should offer up a prajcr of thanksgiving that the party of their choice Is not In power. |
