Show MEN LEAP TO DEATH Rather Than Be Ground to Pieces by A Train Trio Jumped From a Bridge to River Bottom 1S0 Feet Below Akron, Ohio; May C. Three men were klhed and a boy, a Bon of one of tbo men, was seriously injured last night when they leaped from 41 trestle tres-tle at Thompson's crossing two miles north of here, to CBcapo a passing train. They wero dead when picked up from the Mvpr bottom, 160. fctt below. The dead are: Thomas Drown, Akron; William Shbln, Litchfield, Ohio; and Albert Schmidt, Lima, Ohio. Leo Drown 14, son ot Thomas Brown, fell on soft earth and escaped with serious injuries. The party was returning from a fishing trip on a hand car when they saw the train a special on the Northern Ohio railroad, rail-road, approaching as thoy- went out on the long trestle. Believing their only way to escapo lay tn jumping, they leaped and were killed. |
