Show The Death of Jno.Crowther Aged Engineer at the Temple Succumbs. 0 John Crowthcr, aged ,75 years, died in this city Tuesday morn-ing, morn-ing, the result of a fall at the Temple on November 18th. The aged niatf, who had been engineer at the Logan temple practically since its opening, was doing home brick work there and fell in such a way that his hips and kidneys wow! injured badly. A kidney trouble was started afresh and with renewed vigor, so that the unfortunate man died as stated. In his hist, days he sufYercd terribly! ter-ribly! but bore up with great courage. John Crowthcr was a son of Mnthias Crowthcr, and was born in Staffordshire, England, Oct. 2, 1832. In 1833 he married Mary Jackson, and emigrated to Utah in 18C4. They crossed the plains with ox teams and en route to Salt Lake City Uuricd two children. chil-dren. While located at Coalville Coal-ville a short timo after, they buried bur-ied two more children. Two otfi-er otfi-er children of this union, Joseph and Edward CrowOier, survive. Mrs. Crowther died in May, 18G7, at NHelena, Montana. In 1870, Mr. Crowthcr married Louisa E. Cordon, mother of Editor Augustus Augus-tus Qordon, of The Journal.' They, came to Logon in 1879 and have resided here fince. Mr. Crowther was widely known throughout Cache county. He was ji industrious man, honest and upright and faithful to his convictions. , Funeral services will bo held Friday at 2 p. m., in the tabernacle. |
