Show Wm.Wood-ward Wm.Wood-ward Dead Is Buried at Home in Franklin FRANKLIN, Nov. 23.-On Sunday last at about 0 p, m. Wm. Woodward of Franklin departed this life after a few months Illness of stomach trouble and general debility. On Wednesday the funeral services were held In the meeting house where a large congregation congre-gation assembled at 1 o'clock. Tho choir sang hymns that had previously been selected by the departed. There were on the stand as speakers Elder Solomon II, Hale of Preston, Charles II. Hart of Logan, L. L. Hatch, S. R. Parkinson, 0. W. Hobbs, I. H. Kash and O. W. States of Franklin. All spoke of the many good qualities of the deceased and reviewed many Incidents Inci-dents connected with his life's labors. Mr. Woodward was born at Watford, England, in 1833. He was baptised Into the L. D. S. church In 1848 and came to Utah In 1850. He resided In Salt Lake until 18G0, when with a number of others he and his family came and located at Franklin. He was a very energetic and useful man in the community, ever ready aqd willing wil-ling to assist In anything for the de velopmcnt of the city, county, state and nation. His time was devoted to the work of God and he was truo to the religion he embraced In his youth. With his dying breath he admonished all to continue faithful. On Kovember 25, Cleora, 10-year-old daughter of Hyrum and Esther Hatch, died after an illness of two or thtec weeks of heart trouble. Funeral services ser-vices were held on the 27th. Elders John A. Lowe and I. II. Kash were speakers. Mrs. Manuel Packer and Mils Kora Handy sang a solo each. The choir rendered opening and closing clos-ing selections. The recent storm made It unpleas ant for tho beet harvesting as a few farmers had not succeeded In gathering gather-ing their crop. The beet crop Is all gathered now, however. George Magee and Mary Ann Buckley, Buck-ley, were united In marriage at the Logan temple a short time ago. Dan Kennedy and Myrtle Hobbs were married on Thanksgiving day, Bishop S. C. Parkinson officiating. The contracting parties left at once for Salt Lake City to visit friends there. |
