Budge said "wo H are here to do the will of God, H Jiiu1 the priesthood is given to H assist us." He spoke on the du- H tics of those who hold the priest- H President Charles II. Hart said H lie was pleased with the integrity H of some of the brethren here, H with whom he has been acquaint- H ed for many years. The speaker H said oftimes trouble arises by not H teeing and understanding things H ' as they are. Four of our wards have H recently completed construction H and improvements on meeting H bouse, and three others have ex. K pensivo buildings under construc- H tion. He said "tho Lord has made us able to accomplish tho 'work we have done. The more we understand the more we ,aro expected to do. Our family government needs to b given more consideration." He spoke atsomc length on this subject, sub-ject, and urged the parents to obtain ob-tain control of their children, so they could say as itho prophet of old "as for me and my home we will fervc tin1 Lord ' Nellie K. Parkinson reported the Belief Society. In the Stake there are ten branches of this organization fully organized with a membership of f8t). Counsellor A. M. I.sraclscn" soid a good work is being accomplished accomplish-ed by our auxiliary organizations, but we aro not reaching all who need to bo reached in this work. There are so many who arc careless care-less and indifferent. The young arc allowed too much liberty. Parents should co-operate with tht oflicers of these organizations in teaching the children. Sunday 2. P. M. Counsellor Win. TI. Maiighan presented the general authorities authori-ties and the stake officers, who were unanimously sustained. Kldcr I. C. Thorcscn, of Logan, spoke on the conditions in Mexico, Mexi-co, where he lias been recently .,-Uo .,-Uo referred to tho unearthing of ruins in that country, which are evideneo of authenticity of the Book of Mormon. Elder C. W. Shipley, of Para-disc, Para-disc, gave a brief account of his misisonary labors in the Southl orn States, from where he has returned re-turned recently. Prcst. Charles IT. Hart read from the Doctrine and Covenants on tho duty of parents to children chil-dren in relation to teaching them the gospel. Ho said that "on account of there being so manv organizations we are given to place too much responsibility on them in teaching tho children, and not enough on the parents. There is inoro joy and satisfaction in knowing that children are living righteous lives than in any worldly world-ly success they may achieve." He referred briefly to temple work, and desired the saints to take advantage of our opportunities opportuni-ties in tihs direction. In the evening the Stake T. M. and Y. L. M. I. A. presented an cxcellenti program. Special men tion should bo made of the beautiful beau-tiful violin and piano solos by the blisses Hart, of Logan, which wero highly nppreciotcd by the audience.. Miss Hose Liljenquist read an excellent paper on "Social Purity." Pur-ity." General Items. Quite a number of our people will take advantage of the low railroad rates to Salt Lake this week, and attend conference. We aro pleased for the consideration shown by the railroad company, and hope ithnt regular scrvico will .soon be given us. Wo arc certainly cer-tainly entitled to this recognition as our citizens have worked hard in this direction. A number of the delegates to the Bepublican convention remained re-mained to the show in Logan Saturday evening. They felt that they could aford this recreation recre-ation after a good day's work. Willnrd B. Christensen, of this place, and Miss Allen, of Paradise, Para-dise, were married last Wednesday. Wednes-day. Miss Caddie Benson, of Uyrum, nnd a young mnn from Bandolph wore r.lso married on that day.
