Show I I Sorrow at Hyde Park Ames Little Child Dead and Buried The Christmas Christ-mas Doings in the Town. HYDE PARK, Dec. 1M1. 100(1 -Well, Christmas lias gone, and with It lias A gone the beefstacks, turkeys, geese, 'ducks and chickens, and many of the Rood things or the earth that go to appease the appetites of men. The day was spent In a very quiet, peaceful peace-ful manner. No accidents, tights or drunks, and no arrests or anything of the kind that we have heard of. A spirit of love, kindness, and "peace on earth good will to men," seemed to prevail. On Christmas Eve the Prim-ary Prim-ary gave a Xmas tree entertainment. A very nice program was rendered. Santa Claus visited them and distributed distrib-uted the presents from olT tho tree. Were It not for the Primary and the Young Ladles associations of thcward giving us entertainments occasionally we fear our people would soon forget what an entertainment Is like. The Relief Society, following their annual custom, distributed many good and needful articles to families where such things were needed. While most of our good people were rejoicing in their prosperity and In the festivities of the season, to one family there were sorrow and heartaches. heart-aches. On Monday morning at about '2 o'clock the little Infant daughter of Robert and Laura Carver passed to that home above, which she had so recently re-cently left. Funeral services were hsld from tho residence today. Many friends, relatives and sympathizers were present and words of comfort and consolation were olfcred by Elders t 0. '. Lamb, Lorenzo I'etcrson, .1 V. D. Ilurrcn, Suel Lamb, Lars Petersen, Joseph Walte, Thomas Klrby and Bishop Hyde. Prayers wero offered by George I), Itccder and Suel Lamb. The bereaved parents have many friends who sympathise with them in their hour of bereavement, and pray God to comfort and bless them. Jnmcsand WilforrfChrlstcnsen came to Hydo Park Saturday night from Pocatello where they have been laboring labor-ing durlug the winter. William Mctcalf, of lona, Idaho, (and one of the b.ibes in-arms when llyde Park was first settled) is down after seventeen years visiting friends and scenes of his boyhood days. Dan Cash and wife, of Benson ward, spent Christmas In town. Caroline and Hyrum Petersen went to Rear Lake county to spend the holidays. David Grant was taken sick Sunday night, and It was feared for a time that he had pneumonia. Information comes thai he Is now Improving. Jesse S. Hancey Is up at Ticasure-ton Ticasure-ton superintending the construction of a new meeting house. If rumors are to be relied upon, then there will be several marriages In tho near future. John Ralls, of Soda Springs, is visiting visit-ing In town. |
