Show Dems At More Trickery I Falsely Claim There Were Not Any Demo- I crats On Investigation Committee. I The democratic organ iuotes Mr. Baiber as having said at the Mlllvllle rally that "the Governor appointed a solid republican commission to Investigate In-vestigate the work of tho A. 0. of U. and U. of IT." Mr. Ncbeker Is reputed to have made virtually the same statement at the democratic rally lu llyriim. The democratic oigan has Itself made the same statement, and used It as nigtiment against the republican legislative ticket. Considering the KACT, gentlemen, that I'KTKU SUNmVALL, tho Saupeto member of that commission, and Mr MAKSAlt, or Heaver, AUK DKMOCItATS, does it not appear that ou ate indulging in methods beneath the dignity of men who aspire as-pire to legislative position? Can it be possible that gentlemen, and a newspaper, so thoroughly Informed In-formed as aro the demociatic candidates candi-dates and the democratic organ, arc ignorant of the fact that the Governor Gover-nor appointed two democrats on Hint, board? If not Ignorant or the lact, then what construction shall be put upon this misstatement? The voters of this county can not but be convinced that in the elfort to slip back Into oillcc this time, demo- H cracy has used and is using every H legtimate and illegitimate argument H that comes to mind. The college question Is not rightly an Issue ip this H campaign, but democracy has pushed H it to the limit. H Dcsplto the fact that every demo- H cratlc 'member of tho investigation H commission was against the college; H despite the fact that In the recent H legislature every democrat In tho lower house and every democrat, but H one, In the Scnato was against tho H college, democracy Is making a cam- H palgn on the issue that "A vote for H the republican ticket Is a vote against H the Agricultural College." H Demociacy deserves a chromo, and an overwhelming defeat at the com M ing election. M |
