N. and N. K.) bought W. K. fl Rurnliam's farm. The purchase prlco M Is said to bo closo to $.1500, and 'the H farm at this price Is considered a big H bargain. Theso same brothers just H purchased tho old homo and property of C. E Merrill. N. K. Nelson will H live in this house for the present and H will In a short .time erect a modern H dwelling In place of tho old one now H standing. Theso now additions to the H Nelson Bros.-' property give them now over "00 acres of land. Il Fred Schow, who recently received notification from the government to j get ready to go to the Phlllipincs, has M received another letter Instiuctlng H him to leave San Francisco September M II th. Mclvlii Merrill another sue- M ccssful candidate at tho recent Civil M Service examination, has also been notified to be ready as soon as possible to go to the Phllllplne Island's also. H Mr. Merrill Is engaged this winter as principal of the Sprlngvlllc High H School and unless he can be released from this work ho will not go to the M Islands before next May. If his re- M lease can be secured from the school H he will leavo here before or near tho H first of tho vear. H The old Dcach saloon building which M of late has been occupied by the High M Creek Light and Power Co as an olllce, M was moved further north last week to M make room for tho now electric light M and bank building which will bo built M on tho corner. Work on the founda- M tlon of tho new building was com- M menced Monday. Nets Eskelscn had M charge of tho moving of the building, M which required sixteen horses. Tho M usual host of oung boys and at times M thirty men were present to give In- M structlons and suggestions to aid tho M moving work. In the night a loud M "wake" was given in tho building to a M select crowd. M 'Surveyor Schaub was busy working H here Monday In establishing a grade H preparatory to having the new cement H sidewalk put in In front of thoPcoplo's H store, and setting lines for tho digging H of the foundation of tho new Electric M Light building. It may bo news to H many to know that Mr. Schaub finds H several or the storo buildings aro built H a foot or so out on the sidewalk and H thcrcforo tho streets are not as wldo H as they should be, a fault, however, H which will be very dllllcult to remedy H at this time H On uccountof 111 health, F. G. Robin- H son lias resigned as a member of the H council of this place. His successor H will be appointed at the next meeting H of the council. There Is no doubt but that Mr. Monsou will make a success and master mas-ter his now chosen profession. Mrs. Mary A. Harris, of Lewlsvlllc Idaho, Is visiting her brother, J. W. Martin, of this place. Mrs. Harris Is a daughter-in-law of- Martin Harris, ore of the three witnesses of the Dook of Mormon. The brother's and sister's visit was most happy and pleasant, as they had not seen each other for aver eight years. Albert Funk will soon go into the barber business In the proper stylo and devote his time to this work not In Richmond, however, but In Franklin. Frank-lin. A building Is being erected there for him and he expects to move from this place and start anew in our neighbor neigh-bor town about the 15th of September. We wish him success. 9 j Itoy Monson and family will move down from Franklin this week and will live lu Henry Stoddard's homo. Mr. Monsou'will leave on a mission to Scaudanavla early next October. Peter and Ed. Swendson, and families, famil-ies, formerly of this place but now of Iilackfoot, Idaho, have just returned and will niaku Richmond' their homo again. J as. Itrower and C. W. Nelson, two stalwarts of Gcntllo Valley, are visiting visit-ing their home town, Richmond; so, also, Is Wm. Atkins, of Turner.ldaho. Tho city has completed another strong bridge, this one over city creek on the county road opposite the laundry. Jos. Stagg Is happy and will treat all who come his way. A large bright boy was born at his homo Monday. Ora Merrill will leave here for his mission to New York Oct. 1st. |
