Tlio funeral services over the remains of .ella Lamb, daughter of Sucl K. and 1'hocbctLamb, was licld In the meet-IngJ meet-IngJ houso today, the house being crowded wlili relatives and friends. The stand was draped In white, covered cov-ered with roses and white snowball (lowers, emblematical of the pure life of the deceased. 'I he casket was u white one literally covered with beautiful beau-tiful llowcrs, presented by her many friends and playmates. A beautiful and Inspiring fcaturo was that of 20 prcttylltMoglrlsdresscdln whltc.cach carrying a lovely bouquet of llowcrs, which were placed upon the grae. These little girls were primary asso-elates asso-elates of the deceased and preceded the collln from the residence to the meeting house, and thence to the cemetery. The Invocation was offered by Lorenzo Petersen. The speakers were Henry KHancey, J. W.JID, Hurrcn, James Johnson, of I'rcston, Martin Woolf, of Cardston, Krcil Turner, of Logan, and Illstiop C. G. Iljde. Some very comforting and encouraging remarks were made by each speaker, and a calm, peaceful, sympathizing spirit seemed to till each one present. Some of the subjects touched upon by tlio speakers were the relationship wc bear to one another, an-other, to Rod, and to Ills son, Jesus Christ, and our prc-cxlstcnco probation, proba-tion, the resurrection, and the comforting com-forting assurance of a life beyond the grae. The beautiful slngltiK by the choir, and to quartctts, one during the services ser-vices in the meeting house, the other at tho grave by Mrs. McQuarry, her danchtor Florence, and Fred and Wllhird Itallam, wero very Impressive and comforting to till. Twenty-two vclilc'cs.and many pcoplo who walked, fallowed the remains to tho cemetery, the grave being dedicated by George D. Hecder. Thus all that was mortal of a beautiful, obedient, and lovely child, was consigned to mother earth, there to rest till tho resurrection day. David Grant went over to Hear Lake last week and brought back a load of Hear Lake suckers. On his return home ho found his wifo suffering suffer-ing with appendicitis. She was operated oper-ated on In Logan today, and we arc Informed rallied nicely. It seems that David Is getting rather more than his share of trouble. A year or so ago his step-daughter, Teny, was opetatcd on for appendicitis, then Dave himself took sick and spent some time at the hospital; now It's his wife. Truly there is trouble for us all. Mrs. Mary C. Mlckleson returned home last week from the Snake river country where she went to visit her daughter, Mrs. James Jensen. She Is not very much taken up with the country, and thinks Cache county Is a much better place In which to live. From Joseph Johnson, of Preston, wc learn that Mrs. Hannah Itopcr, sister sis-ter of Simpson M. Molcn, died at that place this morning. Tho deceased was one. of tho early settlers of Hyde Park. Among those present at tho funeral of ella Lamb were James and Joseph Johnson, Win. Hawkcs, with their wives, all of Preston. Our shecpshearers llnlshcd their shearing out west last week, and ar-rived ar-rived home Saturday night. Quite a number of our sports went Ashing Friday and made some lino catches. Andrew Reese and wife, of Benson ward, wero visitors here today. |
