Show I Fatal Accident in the Canyon S M I Henry Howell, a Young Man of Paradise, I Kills Himself with a Rifle. HI Henry Howell, a young slieophcrder H with Hooks up Logan canyon near the K Utah-Idaho line, accidentally shot M himself through the body Thursday H evening, dying within an hour and a 9 half. The young fellow was but 'Jl S years of age, the oldest son of the 1 widow Howell, nt Paradise, and was MB herding sheep for Thomas Obray. H From the best Information obtain- H able young Howell was about two g! hundred yards from camp at the time k . oi tno accident, sitting upon a rock m r ledge handling a 44 calibre rllle. It Is ffi said that ho had the butt of the gun ig down hill and the muzzle toward his body. The supposition Is that as he moved his body the butt of the gun slipped and the weapon was discharged. discharg-ed. The ball entered tho inside of the left leg about eight Inches above the knee, ranged upwards, and lodged In the body in the vicinity of the heart. Another man at the camp got assistance for tho unfortunate young man but ho lived only an hour and a half. Young Howell suffered great agony and after the accident talked of nothing but the terrible pain he was In. The body was brought to Lind-qulst's Lind-qulst's undertaking parlors Friday morning. |
