Show Justice's Court. II. A. Pedorsen, the newly appointed Justice of the Peace, took charge ot the olllce on Saturday evening, ex-Justice ex-Justice Cardon turning over the books. Monday proved a busy day for him, there being several cases on docket. One of these was a case of drunkenness drunken-ness and stepllng, a transient having stolen a blcyle. He rode it to Smith-Held Smith-Held and then disposed of it. Justice Pcdersen sent him to the rock-pllo for fifteen days. Another case was that of a Brlgham City man arrested for peddling without with-out a license. When before Justlco Pcdcrson he said ho was selling Ills own fruit and that ho had paid but one license here In ten years Ho was asked If his conscience didn't bother him a little, and then was told that If ho would get a certificate from the marshal of Brlgham that ho was scl ing his own fruit, they would let him oil this time. Ho finally said ho would rather pay $5.00 then, and $10 when he came again, If ho didn't have to get a certificate. This suited tho court and tho peddler went his way rejoicing. |
