Show Hyde Park Now Has A Visitor I J. P. Roper, Honored Citizen Returns. I Other Items From The Town. I HYDK PARK, July '22, 1000 -A most welcome visitor to Hjile Park today was an old tlmo cltlen J P Roper. Readers of Tin: Rkpi iimcan will lemembor that Mr Roper recently recent-ly moved from Gunnison to Preston, where, a few days after, his beloved wife passed to the great beyond Thirty years ago, Brother Roper left Hyde Park toinako his homo In Sanpete San-pete county, and Hyde Park lost one Its most useful citizens Brother Roper was the organizer and (Irst sup erlntendcnt of the Hyde Park Sunday School, and as such was Introduced to tho Sunday School scholars today. Scarcely half a dozen porsons In the sabbath school today were members of the school during Brother Roper's Superlntcndency. They wero children child-ren and grandchildren of thoso ho presided over In those early days. Memories of the many good times had In the long ago mado it dilllcult for him to talk much to the children. He asked for tho privilege of leading the school once more in singing "Lovo at Home" and it was sung as it used to be in daysgoiib by. Ho also bore a strong testimony to tho truths of the gospel Ho was for many years a teacher of music classej, and a capable cap-able leader of the choir. Many of his pupils afterwards became good singers and musicians, and there will cycr be a warm place In their hearts for J B. Roper. Wc also remember him as fl school teacher, Secretary of Irrigation M District, and an active worker and M player upon the stage.
