Show Doctors Organized. Association Is for Advancmcntof Medical Science, Etc. Tho majority of the physicians of tho valley met according to appointment appoint-ment last Wednesday and organized the Cache Valley Medical society and elected the following oillcers: Dr. It. J. Smith, or Smlthlleld, president; Dr. States, of Franklin, vice president; Dr. II. K. Merrill, of Logan, secretary and treasurer; Dr. Smith, Smlthlleld, Dr. Cantrlll, Ilyrum, and Dr. Emery,' Preston, program committee. The purpose or tho association as stated In article II of the constitution Is as follows: "Tho putpose or this association shall be to federate and bring Into one compact organization the entire medical proresslon or Cache valley, and to unite with tho Utah State Medical Association, with a view to the extension of medical knowledge, and to the advancement or medical science to tho elevation or the standard or medical education; to tho promotion of friendly Intercourse among physicians and to tho guarding and fostering of their material interests, inter-ests, and to the enlightenment' and direction or public opinion in regard to tho great problems or medicine, so that tho profession shall become mom capable and honorable within Itself, and moro useful to tho public In the prevention and cure of disease, and In prolonging and adding comfort to life. Article, III Sec. (I provides that representative rep-resentative teachers and students of the allied sciences, not physicians, may bo associate members. Meetings arc to le held monthly, the next one tc bo the first, Wednesday Wednes-day In March at tho same timo and place, and It Is to be hoped that those who wcro not present tho last tlmo will be next time In order to sign the constitution and become alllllatcd with the society. |
