Show The Cache Stake Conference The quarterly conference of Cacho Stake convened at tho tabernacle in Logan Saturday morning at ten o'clock. The day's sessions are said to havo been of great pleasure and protlt, but from unavoidable causes Tiik Rei'uhlican had no representative representa-tive there and does not attempt to give a report of the day's doings. Sunday's proceedings follow. Particular Partic-ular attention is directed to tho explanation ex-planation of the uses to which the tithing funds aro put. Sunday Morning. "The Spirit of God" was sung by the choir, followed by prayer from Edwin Smith, after which Counsellor W. W. Maughan expressed for the presidency and high council their appreciation of tho liberal liber-al contributions from the people for tho tabcrnaclo and B. Y. C. Improvements. Improve-ments. The various olllccrs wero commended highly for their excellent work. In his opinion, tho ward and stake callings should bo considered as missionary labor. In reference to Elders being released tho speaker suggested sug-gested that this did not necessarily Indicate that things are wrong, and he advised that the people adapt themselves to the changes that must Inevitably occur. C. W. Nibley said in substance that there arc a few men who believe tho llfo of tho Savior was a failure, but these do not understand tho wondorful story of Jesus. Tho Savior was our brother, the son of God. In his days there wero scoffere who ridiculed him, and though we revere our leaders today thero aro thoso who ridicule them, also. Tho Prophet Jos jph was selected from millions of men to establish a great work. Presidents Smith, Young, and Taylor and others wero and are great, but there Is only ono being through whom wo can get sal-vatlon sal-vatlon tho son of God. Governments negotiating with each other do It through their representatives, so with tho Father. The Savior represents us, he Is tho medium by which we reach tho Father. Wc should glorify tho name of God. Men who walk In humility and are patient and good, glorify His name. John E. Carlisle' said he wasdesirous of laboring for the good of tho church. Ho said tho Sunday Schools aro well organized and in general good shape. Apostle Penrose spoke In a commendatory way of various vari-ous officials and In reference to tith-Ing tith-Ing said that tho llnancial reports indicate in-dicate pretty well tho feelings of tho people, for where tho heart U there the treasurer Is also. In speaking of tho changes made In presiding olllclals, the speaker said that explanations arc unnecessary when tho roleaso comes honorably, Ho also added that In all changes the Priesthood remains, so that when this llfo is left the priesthood priest-hood will bo enjoytd Just the same. In substanco ho said: Tho Priesthood was brought to earth by men who held It in formor days. John tho baptist, Peter, James and John.
