Clay's novel, "Dora Thorne," was an offering to' the patrons of tho Grand Opera House last night, which was received with many evidences of genuine appreciation. It tells a very interesting story fraught with heart Interest. The situations aro strong, the climaxes effective. The play Is splendidly stagefi, but In scenery as well as plot tl)cro Is very little of tho melodramatic.
