Settled -in Lowell, Mass,, whore ho embraced the Gospel. He was a veteran of the Civil War, enlisted en-listed in the 33rd Mass. Volunteers Volun-teers in 1862; was in the Battle of Lookout Mountain, and was with Sherman m his march to the Sea. Was discharged in Juiy, 1865. Came to Logan in 1878, where he - entered into business but through failing health gave up business and moved to Smith field, where he made ' many friends by his kind and sympathetic sympa-thetic feelings for all. . .The . 7 year old boy of Johi) Cannell's- of Smithfield, slipped into a wagon wheel and broke his leg near the knee, breaking both bones.
