Baker City, Ore., Feb 10The Latter-day Saints of South Baker Bak-er held a meeting Saturday night with the object of raising i $150 to pay off the balance of the (church debt. The meeting took ' ! the form of a literary and -musi-i cal entertainment, winding up i with a dance, and as H result the j necessary sum was acquired plus ' ' a few dollars extra, so that the i members of the congregation are I now happy. -I Counselor Wm- J VVorbe, on I behalf of the retiring Bishop, Wm, K Davis, thanked the Saints of South Baker ward for their cordial ' support of the Bishop during his short term of office and delivered a neat eulogistic eulo-gistic speech. Oa Sunday Bishop Bish-op Davis bade the Sunday school goodbye. A happy reply was made by Supt. James Eardley, i wishing Elder Davis success in his new vtnture in.La Grande.
