Show FLOODS IN KANSAS. Wheat Fields Transformed Into Great Inland Lakes. Salina, Kan., is the scene of the worst flood in its history, fully 100 families having been driven from their homes and the extent of the damage is estimated to be hundreds of thousands thou-sands of dollars. Another heavy rain fell Tuesday night, making four inches of rain that has fallen during the last twenty-four hours. The northwestern portion of the city is entirely submerged, sub-merged, and women and children were rescued from their homes in boats. The Missouri Pacific grade on the west is holding-back a large and threatening threaten-ing body of water. If the water succeeds suc-ceeds in crossing the tracks the entire western portion of the town" will b under water. ' |
