Show Panama Canal Company Would Sell to the United States. Maurice Hutin, president of the board f directors of the Panama Canal company, com-pany, arrived in Washington Wednes-Jay. Wednes-Jay. He called upon Admiral Walker, chairman of the Isthmian Canal commission, com-mission, for the purpose of bringing ibout the disposition of the Panama sompany's interest in that partly con-itructed con-itructed waterway. The Isthmian Canal commission-has sndeavored to obtain a positive and lirect statement of what the Panama Kmpany would accept for its rights snd Mr. Hutin's return to France this lummer was for the purpose of obtaining obtain-ing information on that point. It is understood that he has now a proposition proposi-tion to make to the United States commission, com-mission, but aloDg what lines it is impossible im-possible to ascertain, as Mr. Hutin refuses to be interviewed concerning it Defore acquainting the commission with the results of his mission. |
