Monday. After the opening exercises, Bishop Anthon Anderson reported report-ed the condition of Logan Second Sec-ond "-ard. All but 29 members are tithe payers. Bishop N. W. Crookston reported re-ported Greenville ward in good condition. Bishop Henry W. Ballard reported re-ported good progress in Bensor. with a heavy increase in tithing, and nrosnect for the earlv ra v- cessity of tithing being properly recorded. The meeting adjo urned until 2 .p. m. with prayer by Elder Geddes. - The quarterly conference of the Cache stake of Zion convened in Logan tabernacle Sunday morning Jan. 25, 1903, at 10 a. m. president Joseph Morrell pre- siding. The j Saints are greatly blessed in that I they have a hope beyond this iiife. We have been gathered out from the world, and our religion, relig-ion, our beliefs and our hopes make us different from the world. We have the spirit of truth in our midst, and reside together in love ing of the B. Y. C. assessment. Bishop Joseph E. Cardon reported re-ported the Logan First ward, stating that a heavy tithing and big donation is paid, population considered. Superintendent John E. Carlisle Car-lisle reported 3000 members in the stake Sunday schools, and all schools fully organized and equipped. It gives me pleasure to hear of the growth of the church, of the work of the missionaries, and the. increased tithing. The world mistakes us, but the gos- pel will yet rule the wdrld. They should be made promptly and in full. - Apostle M. W. Merrill spoke of the ward reports, saying the bishops should make them briet and speak of the encouraging conditions . which,, exsist. Larsen reported the Seventh ward, saying the ar-ganizatiors ar-ganizatiors are well offictred, and in ;ood condition, and five missionaries are in the field., - Bishop H.' A. Hansen of the Sixth ward said his ward has six missionaries in the field and the societies of the ward generally are in good condition. ' Bishop William Hyde said the crament had been administered. He said when he - was called to the apostleship the mission and responsibility were he felt almost I more than he could carryvbuthad always made it a rule not to shirk any 'duty. My mission is no more important than that of any officer in uie church. We should: obey every cal l made upon us and learn desied. The factory distributes large sums in our midst and is therefore a benefit. The owners of the factory are treating the farmers as nearly right as possible. possi-ble. Smith said the condition of the Fourth ward was particularly gratifying, as the Saints are showing much , interest in-terest in the work. We have seven missionaries in the field, and an energetic, charitable mem bership. Our tithing increased more than $1,000 last year. Bishop Fred Theurer of Providence Prov-idence said the people of his ward had had considerable sickness,' sick-ness,' but are now in improved health. The various organizations organiza-tions are tully equipped and are ! doing a good work. Our tithing ' was $1,000 more the past year, land we have eight missionaries I in the field. The emissaries of the adversary are at work spreading false reports abroad cenceruing us but the very methods me-thods they use to injure us often arouse interest and thereby aid our work. Apostle A. A- Linford of .the Brigham Young college, said' that institution has the largest attendance atten-dance in its history, namely, 53 students and 95 in the training school. The president, board of trustees and faculty sincerely apprecate the aid given by the bishops and people. We are try-, ing to arrange lor more room as it is badly needed. ; President Isaac Smith said the ' reports that had been given were ! very interesting. It is gratifying to k.ow that our tithing is increasing. in-creasing. The mothers in Israel 'are at work on this principle and their influence is shown by the renewed interest of their sons.
