Show ""Miss Garden's Operatic Success. Miss Mary Garden, who is scoring a success in opera in London, has been referred to as a Chicago girl by birth. This is not correct, Miss Garden is a native of Aberdeen, Scotland, but she received a good deal of her musical training in Chicago. Later she studied in Paris, where she began her operatic career,, with dramatic suddenness. She was called upon, practically at a moment's mo-ment's notice, to take Mme. Ristori's part in "Louise." In fact, she w'ent from a seat in the theater to the stage and in a single evening won such success suc-cess that she has sung the same part I in Paris no less than 115 times. |
