Should the boiling up of the contents cf the pot elevate the cover the resulting puff of steam is also drawn into the hood by means of draft conduits arranged around the interior of the hood, the suction of air into the conduits being stimulated by the steam rising to the chimney through the tubes in the covers cov-ers or the pots.
