Show MATRON CALLED BY DEATH Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Makln, wife of John Makln, passed away Saturday afternoon. Funeral sorvlces woro con ducted horo yostcrday at tho Fourth Ward chapel. Sorvlcoo woro presided ovor by Dlshop Stokor and tho ward choir rendorod musical numbors as follows: "Though Dooponlng Trials," "Sister, Thou Art Mild und Lovoly" and "Rest, Rest, Thy Weary Soul." A duet, "Unanswered Yot," was sung by tho Misses Rnsson and Arvottn Wing. Dlshop John Stoker, Ellsha Pock, James H. Gardner and S. Martin offered offer-ed remarks. Invocation was offered by Dlshop Maboy of Provo and tho boncdlcjlon by Enoch Russon. Tho latter also dedicated tho grave Biographical Sketch. Mary Elizabeth W. Makinl woo tho daughtor ot Walter and Mary Jane D. Wofllndon. Sho was born at Hoyland Common, Yarkshiro, England, March 27, 1885, and emigrated to Utah with hor parents, April, 1903, arriving in Lohl, May 6 tho samo year. Sho was baptlzod ldto tho Church ot Jesus Christ ot Latter-day Saints, Juno 6, 1893, and confirmed by Patriarch James Klrkham. Sho was married to John W. Makln, June 20, 1911, and was tho mother of four daughters, ono of which preceded preced-ed hor to tho Spirit World. Mrs. Makln was ot a cheorfUl disposition dis-position and met ovoryono with a smile and a kind word. Sho labored in tho Fourth Ward Primary Association Associ-ation willingly responding to the call until sho was taken sick with the "Flu" about threo months ago, she never fully recovered from tho after effects of this dread dlscaso. Last Saturday nfjternoon sho. was lakon suddenly and unexpectedly worse passing poacofully away about 5 p. m. tho samo day to a well earned re ward. Sister Makln was loved by tho Primary workors and children alike and by all her acquaintances. Sho was a dovoted wife, a loving mother and a- truo Lattor-day Saint. Sho is survived by her threo daughters, husband, hus-band, hor fathor and mothor, threo brothers, two sisters and a largo circle of friends. She was 37 years, 2 months and 4 days old. |
