A special meeting of tho City Council convened on the 11th inst. with all present excepting Councilman Coun-cilman Banks, who was absent from the city. Tho session was called to take into consideration matters pertaining to tho pending water suit, the opening of tho Battle Bat-tle Creek road, the adjustment of damages sustained on account of water works improvements, and the validity of the dog tax ordinance. ordi-nance. The water suit matter was referred re-ferred to the judiciary committee in connection with tho eity attorney attor-ney for adjustment. A communication from Judge J. E. Booth, who represents the Oscar Winters estato interests, with reference to the opening of the Battle Creek road, was read and considered at some length. Judiciary Chairman Harvey reported re-ported investigation of the premises, prem-ises, and an interview had with Attorney Booth relative to tho legal status of the proposition. Tho committees on water works and claims were authorized to ascertain as-certain the extent of damages sustained sus-tained by individuals by reason of tho construction of the now pipo line and report at the next regular meeting.
