Show H v! ASSOCIATION H Occasionally wc arc given iJ lesson'showing us the necessity ol H having some adequate protection H against fire in our city. Lucky H for us these lessons do not occur H very often and losses from fire H have been very small here hut no H one can tell when a fire might B break out and do a great amount H of damage. If it gets a stait it H; . will burn until all wilhin reach Hj has been consumed for we have H no way of stopping it. The city H can scarcely afford to put in ex- H tensive waterworks to protect the H city but the city council could H protect the property by ptirchas- H ing a chemical fire engine which H would answer all inirposus here H and be a great benefit to the city. H Wc should then be prepared for H the worst and if a fire ever broke H out in our city we could success- iR fully meet it. The engine might H soon save more than it cost and iR it would immediately reduce in- H surance rates here. The subject iR is worth considering. |
