Show The news comes from Los Angeles that E. H. Dyer & Co., of Cleveland, O., have closed a contract with David Eccles and Joseph Clark, of Ogden, for the construction of a bnet sugar fac-tory fac-tory at Ogden. The contract provides that the factory, which is to have a capacity of seven hundred tons oer day, shall be completed so as to haddle the beet crop of J898. This is truly good news. It means the erection at Ogden of a great factory, a factory whose product will always have ready sale and bring money into the community. To the farmers it is a blessing, to those who Jiave invested their money in it, it will give a handsome return, and to the country another example of Utah enterprise. To Mr. Eccles belongs the chief credit for this new enterprise. It was his push and energy that started it. He finally interested some of Ogden's leading citizens in it, and it was not long before sufficient capital was enlisted to guarantee the erection of: the factory. Fortunate the town that has such citizens. Herald |
