After the program pro-gram was through, ono of tho trustees was called upon to givo n, few words of encouragement to the children and teachers. During his remarks n sound of Jingle, jlrtglc, jingle, was heard; tho speaker stopped, and to tho surprise of all present, who should walk into the room but "Santa Clans" drcss'ed in Ids turn, carrying n largo valieo flllod with candy, etc. Tho little follows were in high glee while they listened to his talcs about ills travels in the far off land from whenco ho hailed. Amid hand clapping nnd a general jollification, ho bid them n merry Christmas nnd a happy new year, llo jumped into his buggy and hastened up town to tho central school house, whoro ho naltedhls'opportunlty.
