Accordingly tho work wns begun this week by tlio snb-committeo previously designated, nnd If tbo present intention of examining every person who has been inn position to know anything ot Importance Im-portance relating to the matter bo carried out the Investigation will not be concluded con-cluded beforo the first of Mreh, If so soon. Thcro is some disappointment because of the dlclslon of tho commlttco to condnct tho Investigation secretly but In arriving at the decision tlio committee com-mittee has only followd precedent.
