Show THE NEW STAFF After some weeks of confusion during dur- dur ing ng which time we have felt sadly the need of a staff and during which time many have been equally anxious about becoming members we are at last in a position to announce the names of those whose work has merited their appointment on the reportorial board Because the work submitted t Iby Eby y some was used in the Chronicle and I that submitted by others was not does oes not indicate that one person had hada a place cinched and that another another another an an- other did not but simply that the editor accepted it as good and because because be be- cause it came in on time All the matter printed was presented presented presented pre pre- to a committee of the faculty appointed to sit in judgment upon the work The fact that a piece of material was well written from the same standpoint standpoint stand stand- point from which a theme is pronounced pronounced pronounced pro pro- good had little weight with the board If the article was written clearly and andin andin andin in newsy fashion and showed in some degree an exposition of newspaper instinct instinct instinct in in- it received as hearty approval as did those exhibiting the style so effective in a formal theme Besides these factors willingness to work and a general attitude of interest interest interest inter inter- est in the life of the campus were considered In nearly every case the work presented presented presented pre pre- was good and the effort is certainly certainly certainly appreciated However it was impossible to select all who competed and those who filled most completely th the requirements above stated were selected At this time it is well to congratulate late heartily the interest the Freshmen Freshmen Freshmen Fresh Fresh- men showed in the work There were several splendid pieces turned in but as the constitution of the student body restricts the Freshmen Freshmen Freshmen Fresh Fresh- men representation to one some good work failed to land its authors on the staff |
