Show early pioneer of southern utah dies at hillsdale Hil isdale george 11 wilson 82 well known to older residents of kane county died at his home in hillsdale Hil isdale on june 16 and was buried there following services in Pan gultch ile ho was born in San taquhi on october 4 1868 his father george D wilson was a member of tile the mormon battalion and his mother martha ann riste alste walked across the plains with a handcart company at the age or of eleven the family was called to the muddy mission and remained until it was closed by president brigham nin young they then moved to southern aali and operated a sawmill in ili gadfield Ga ifield county for many years MT JAIT wilson owned a farm in hillsdale and maintained a camp ground tor for kane county freighters and their teanis teams giving friendly assistance to all early day pioneers HO he was high councilman in ili the Ran gultch stake tor for 47 years deais surviving besides his wife are aie seven en sons six daughters including mrs airs lydia W of alton 59 grandchildren and seven great grand children all of whom attended the funeral this was the first time that all the family had been together all of mr wilsons Wll Wil sons sons with one excel exception tion have filled missions singing at the funeral was provided by the grandchildren |
