Show AGED PASSES IWAY annie jeppson passed away at her homo home in escalante may 8 at theace the age ot of eighty tour four years atter after several years of 0 ill health she was born in alborg denmark march 3 1846 the slaughter ot of peter lind caroline sofia joining the ch churitch ritch as aa a child she emigrated alone at it the age ot of sixteen years wit with h a company oc saints going to mantua utah to make her homo home with nn an uncle rasmus jeppson where she lived until her marriage february 14 1864 to andrew P scho w in 1867 she was called with her husband to open a new settlement at panacea nevada in 1871 they were called to help settle G arfeld county moving to pan duitch to live at the old fort in isug they came to escalante as the first r settlers e where they lived their lives out surviving are seven rd of their clellar surviving are seven childr children cn mrs mary alary heaps and nels 0 scho w of cawley wyoming mrs lillen martin and thomas of california mrs caroline spencer mrs rhoda davis and mrs airs martha griffin of escalante thirty seven grandchildren twenty ono one great grandchildren and one great great grandchild funeral services were held may 11 interment was in the esca lanto cemetery nolday evening at 8 with sey sev enty one business men and members of the lions club and their wives present at the luncheon ahe proprietor 1 r F bruhn opened the program ni with with a speech ot of welcome dr J G jones acted as toastmaster and tried filled that office to tle the satisfaction and dell delight glit of everybody present splendid salendia Sp lendia talks were given by various busl business iness men inen including L r 0 sargent bishop lans hana I P ipson benj cameron jr and dr M W Bt bigelow gelow dob deb orton and his danco dance band of exceptionally tine fine musicians rendered several beautiful selections during the evening and two beautiful solos the swallow and the rosary sung by mrs lydia lassen was highly appreciated by the guests mr and mrs bruhn are to be congratulated on their enterprise in giving the people of panguitch and the traveling public the service such a tine fine establishment as the now new bryce canyon cafe cafe affords att from county new |
