Show j Thunderbirds Finish Bth in Tough Invitational Tourney in California j A cold shooting College of Southern Utah basketball team found their troubles in the California State at Irving Invitational Tournament staged stag-ed at Irving, Calif., this past week. Coach Boyd Adams and his T-Birds picked up one win, in the second round of play, and dropped a pair in the tournament, tourna-ment, which was won by California Cal-ifornia State at Long Beach. They dropped host Irving in the championship game. For the Thunderbirds, the holiday layoff apparently took its toll as the Cedar City squad shot an extremely low percent from both the field and the free throw line in j both of their losses. I In the opening round, the ; T-Birds fell at the hands of I California Slate at Los An-I An-I ge'e.s by a score of 93 to 83. Pinamonti led the scoring in this contest with 27 points, followed by Mead with 10- Pinamonti also led the CSU rebounding with 9 followed by Mullen with 7. O, MLE, what XTC I always al-ways feel when UIC. I used to rave of LN'S eyes, for LC I gave countless sighs for KT, too, and LNR I was a keen competitor. Now each one's a nonNTT for UXL them all, UC. |
