The questionnaire is designed to alert aU new hunting license applicants to the rules of safe gun handling as a step toward reducing gun accidents. j It was suggested and approved by the Utah Wildlife Federation and member clubs' throughout the state. Officers and big game committee members of the state organization have worked with the department during the past year in preparing the questionnaire question-naire for first use during 1956. "The new ruling applies to all persons, both resident and nonresident, non-resident, buying any of the sev. eral Utah hunting licenses for the first time. The largest group affected wiU be the new Juveniles of hunting age. Based upon past license sales, this group may total as marry as 15,000 young people. The' department said ample supplies of the hunter questionnaires question-naires are being sent to all license li-cense vendors along with the 1956 license issues. These licenses wiU be available about April 1. or about two weeks prior to the April 15 legal deadline when anyone going afield during the early fishing on year-around open waters must display either the 1956 or combination fishing and hunting license.
