LEGRAND STUART VORXINK Bobette Bauer and Stuart Vorkink Exchange Marriage Vows in LDS Temple Ceremonies Miss Bobette Bauer became Mrs. LeGrand Stuart Vorkink in rites performed Saturday, May 16, in the LDS St. George Temple. The early morning, double-ring ceremony was officiated by President Presi-dent Rudgar C. Atkin. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. A jrelia W. Bauer. Mr. Vor-kink's Vor-kink's parents are Mr. and Mrs. J. Paul Vorkit.k. A reception, the evening of the wedding, was held in their honor at the Cedar Citv Third Ward Cultural Center. For this occasion, occa-sion, the bride was dressed in a white full-length wedding gown. The dress, styled from poie de soire, featured long tapered sleeves and an empire waist line. The gown was adorned with ap-pliqued ap-pliqued lace, and adding back interest was a short train which fastened into a bustle-bow effect. A butterfly veil was held by a mock jewel crown. A bridal bouquet bou-quet completed her ensemble with turquoise flowers surrounding surround-ing a white orchid. In harmony with a turquoise and white color theme, the bride's attendants wore like dresses of embroidered turquoise I with Towered over-skirts of organza, or-ganza, .ach of the attendants wore accessories of white wedding wed-ding ring hats with veils and white gloves. The bouquets were white carnations accented with flowers complementing the dresses. dress-es. The bride's and bridegroom's sisters honored the newlyweds as their attendants. Yyonne Vorkink served as maid of honor with Marsha and Evelyn Vorkink, Mrs. Don (Norma) Jefferies and Mrs. Charles (Marjorie) Blackburn as bridesmaids. Best man for the bridegroom was his brother. Bill Vorkink. Ushers were David Humpheries and Rod Cox. Mothers of the couple wore lace dresses in blue shades and each was accented with a double-orchid corsage. Completing the wedding line were the three petite flower girls, neices of the bride, Julie Blackburn, Black-burn, Cindy Webster and Tammy Topham. They held baskets of turquoise flowers. At the guest book during the reception were the bride's sisters Colleen Webster and Opal Top-ham. Top-ham. Mr. and Mrs. Dono Webster and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Top-ham Top-ham acted as host and hostess during the affair. Mrs. LaRine Bradshaw was in charge of refreshments with Ida Mailman, Irene Bryand and Lois Blood assisting. Serving were Sharon and Karen Webster, Carla and Leslie Blackburn, Black-burn, Sherrie Jeffries and Lynna Porter. Gift room attendants were Mrs. Sherlene Bauer, Virginia Brown and Maxine Naegle. Brad Jefferies Jeffer-ies and Marge Blackburn were gift bearers. The new Mrs. Vorkink is a graduate grad-uate of Cedar City High School, sho also attended tho f'rillppp of Southern Utah and is currently employed at the telephone office. Mr. Vorkink is a student at the College of Southern Utah. He has completed a r.iission in the Norwegian Nor-wegian mission field for the LDS Church. Following a short honeymoon trip the couple will make their home in Cedar City at 257 North ! 100 West. Before the wedding the prospective pros-pective bride was honored at a bridal shower given by her sisters sis-ters Colleen Webster, Marjorie Blackburn and Opal Topham. The shower was attended by 19 relatives and friends of the bride-to-be. |
