Show Maridon Smith Exchanges Vows with Lynn Nielson in Temple Performed Ceremonies An impressive double ring ceremony performed at the majestic ma-jestic St. George L D S temple . Tuesday morning bound Maridon Mari-don Smith and Lyn(Lindy) Nielson Niel-son in marriage. The popular southern Utah couple made the wedding excursion in company with members of their Immediate Immed-iate families. The new Mrs. Nielson is the daughter of Mr. add Mrs. T. Gordon Smith of Cedar City, and the bridegroom Is the son of Mr. and Mrs. N. P. Nielson of Salina, Utah. Following the temple session the newlywedSj were honored at a luncheon at the Big Hand Cafe in St. George by the parents par-ents of the bridegroom. A reception was held Tuesday evening at the home of the bride's parents in Cedar City. The bride was lovely in a gown of nylon tulle over taffeta with a lace bodice. Her wedding veil was of nylon net and it hung from a crown of wite satin. Matron of honor for the nuptial nup-tial occasion was Mrs. Floyd Munson, and Miss Fern Johnson assisted the bride as maid of honor. Mrs. Arnold Gilbert was bridesmaid. Evan Nielson, brother broth-er of the bridegroom, stood as best man at the reception. An ensemble composed of Prof. Roy L. Halversen, Mrs. G. D. Mac-Donald, Mac-Donald, Mrs. Jay Thorley and Marilyn Halversen furnished musical selections throughout the evening. Mrs. D. C. Dix, Mrs. Homer Jones, Mrs. flail Duncan and Mrs. Cy Smith were pouring and the serving was ably handled by Winnie Heywood, Marie Beck, Eleanor Grimshaw, Jackie Win-terrose, Win-terrose, Vickie Taylor and Sandra San-dra Langford. Carma Joseph of Beaver was In charge of the wedding wed-ding book. Assisting with the gifts were Mrs. Stanley Nielson of Provo, Mrs. Evan Nielson of Beaver. Mrs. Karla Brereton of Provo and Mrs. Hal Norton of Provo. Out-of-town visitors were Mrs. Smith's brother-in-law and sister, sis-ter, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Marshall. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Marshall, and Mr. and Mrs. Stanlev Nielson. all of Provo. Stanley Nielson is a brother of the bridegroom. Maridon is a graduate of the College of Southern Utah and has attended the Utah State Agricultural Ag-ricultural College at Logan. She worked for the U. S. Forest Service Ser-vice in Cedar City for some time and was last year transferred with the organization to Washington, Wash-ington, D. C. Recently she accepted ac-cepted a position in the office of Sen. Wallace F. Bennett of Utah, prior to returning to Cedar City to make her wedding plans. Lindy Is a graduate of C S U and the U S A C where he was active In athletics. For the past two years he has held a coaching position at Bryce yalley High School at Tropic. The couple will make their home In Cedar City this summer where they will be employed by the Utah Parks Company. This fall Lindy will enter school to continue studies In education ad- j ministration. |
