Show Wedding Reception Honors Southern Utah Couple Following an early morning marriage ceremony on Saturday, April 24, performed In the St. George L D S temple by Presi-dent Presi-dent Harold S. Snow, a wedding reception was given in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Simkins at the Kanarraville Ward recreation hall. The new Mrs. Simkins is the former Helen Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Davis of Kanarraville. Ka-narraville. Mr. Simkins Is a son of Mrs. Ellen A. Simkins of Cedar City. A program and dance was featured fea-tured at the reception which was attended by a host of friends and relatives from both Cedar City and Kanarraville. Assisting the newlyweds during dur-ing the day were Rae Simkins as maid of honor, and Kenneth Simkins as best man. Bridesmaids Brides-maids included Margene Isom, Janice Jones, and Calda Davis. Misses Francis Orton, Lenis Davis and Elma Lee Orton were flower girls for the spring occasion, A very interesting program, conducted by Garth Pollock, was given including a piano solo by Janet Wasden; a dance by Kerry and Janine Davis; comic reading by Mrs. Irene Davis; a vocal solo, Bonnie Williams; reading, Mar-gene Mar-gene Isom; musical reading, Mrs. Furl Pollock; vocal duet, Janice Jones and Carolyn Endsley, and a vocal number by Elma Lee and Francis Orton. Mrs. Elmo Orton and Opal Williams Wil-liams were hostesses and Mrs, Melvin Baldwin was in charge of the guest book. Following the reception the young couple left on a short honeymoon hon-eymoon trip into Nevada where they visited in the Las Vegas and Hoover Dam areas. |
