Show Xa A NUMBER of times mes we have heard t A A remarks not altogether of a com complimentary coin coin- b character passed by y the students about a certain young gentleman gentle gentle- man in the University This young man has not an appearance indicating great intellectual powers or great force of character but he impresses us lIS as as' as being an an honest onest and conscientious student He tries hard no doubt to get his lessons but he often fails in the 0 class Perhaps failure after failure will only serve to inspire him with fresh courage and more vigorous tion Anyhow in his classes his record is not very good indeed it is not likely that t at he will pass in a majority of his studies I It t seems that one of the professors takes delight sometimes in holding this person up to ridicule by asking him que questions which which though simple he cannot cannot cannot can can- not answer At first this had a certain novelty to us but when we learned that the young man came from the country that he had never had the advantages of an early education tion such perhaps as the professor enjoyed that he worked hard all summer to earn enough money to carry him through this year that he was entirely dependent upon himself for support that he had to lead a life of Iti singular self self denial denial we felt like saying with regard to those students and the professor Fa Father her forgive them for j they know not what they do j Y |
