Show The production, "One of the Eight' by the Branch Normal dramatic club, at the ward hall Friday night was one of the best amateur productions ever seen on the local, or any other stage, and would have been a credit to professionals. The precision of each player was evidence of the careful and capable training received. re-ceived. The play was so good and, contrary to the average run of theatrical productions, the players without exception rendered ren-dered their parts so efficiently, that it is no little task to differentiate differ-entiate between their respective abilities. Mr. Hanks, who played play-ed the part of Dr. Marks, should no doubt be given first place-by place-by a very small margin for it would have required the acumen of the mo3t experienced critic to have detected an error in his work from first to last. Then there was Mr. Canfield, as "father ' "and "professor," whom it was hard to believe was not the real thing; and Miss Jackson, who made a decided hit as "Bab." Varnie Griffin and Roland Rider, as captain of the competing team 3, Mr. Jolloy as "Peter," and all the rest-were rest-were entitled to almost an equal amount of praise. The corn-puny corn-puny played to capacity houses both nights, the seats being en-tiely en-tiely Hold out for each play. The play may be put on again in the near future in order that those who were disappointed in failing to ge; scats, may have tl o opportunity of witnessing the performance. |
