Show BREAD WINNER TAKEN FROM WIFE AND TOTS William Elliker is Another Victim of Influenza Epidemic, Leaving Wife and 3 Children It is always sad to see a wife and family of helpless children deprived of the assistance of the bread-winner nnd made to face the cold world with but little protection from want. Such a bereavement results from the death of William Elliker of this city, who went down a victim of influenza on November 20th, having contracted the disease at the new Lunt Coal mine, in connection with some four or five other workmen. The disease ran its usual fatal course of about a week, pneumonia developing as a complication, complica-tion, und nothing that could be done uppenred to stay the advance of the diseuse. Deceased was a man over forty years of nge, had been twice married, but only his last wife bore him children, child-ren, af which three survive him. His ! present wife wus formerly Miss Ethel Eth-el Vunarsde). The mother was herself seriously sick with influenza at the same time as her husband and was unable to take care of him or to accompany the remains to the cemetery. Deceased was a native of this place, being born and raised in Cedar City, although a part of his life was spent in mining at various places. a |
