Show PAROWAN. I'arowan, Utah, May HI. 1917. A great treat is in store for us on the evening of June 8th. I.ouis Albert Ranks , a noted lecturer, author and reformer of Boston, will deliver a lecture in the tabernacle on "John Barleycorn's Fight Against the Stars." Admission is free and it is expected the attendance will be large. Mr and Mrs. Henry Oberhanslis have taken rooms at the residence of Miss Anna Bayle ft ft c. D. Burkholder of Cedar City was a visitor in I'arowan last Saturday. Mi and Mrs. Morgan Richards en joyed a few days visit with two of their sons last week. Hill and Charles. The latter brought his family with him for a month's visit 1.. I. EckleS left for Salt Lake Cltj last Tuesday morning for the purpose of Investigating rules and regulations regarding enlistment. Mr. Eckles is anxioul to get a position in a band. A Mr. Landers of Loi Angeles, California, accompanied by Mr Wylie of the same state, were here last week looking over this valley in view of locating here. Roth were plea lad with the valley and hope to be able to locate lo-cate here. jl S. A. Halterman went to Salt Lake City last week for more cars for his territory. Mrs. Minnie A. Rurton of Milford is visiting here with friends and relatives Edwin Webb of Cedar City was a I Iter In Parowan last Wednesday. Miss Eve Adams hi i epted position in the F.irowan bank F. C. Jones is leaving his position in the bank and will move back to Cedar City to work on the farm. Glen Bigler of i'arowan has gone to Nep'u for a few days Mrs, F A. Boyle has returned from PrOVO after an abetIM o of several months Carlisle, her son, has irons to Idaho to join his brother Eugene, who will furnish the former employ merit for the -unimer. Mrs Vim Warren returned from Salt Lake City a few days ago, wht she was called to attend her son Rett who had been sttieken with paralysis. Mis. Warren reports that he has recovered re-covered sufficiently to be able to walk a little |
