Tho canal Is six feet wide H 'at tho bottom and about vtcn feet at tho top, with an 1 averago depth of two feet, capable of carrying 12 cubic H feet' of water. It is four and a half miles long, and con- H Veys water to every part of tho 2G00 acres of fertile land H iwncd by Richard A. Thorloy of his city. At present the canal is supplying more than enough water for all . irrigation purposes and on land that is producing excellent ex-cellent wheat, corn, beans, alfalfa, fruit and vegetables. Persons doubtful of tho immense proposition that Mr. Thorloy is putting over should take the time to make a trip there, because an actual sight gives a better Idea than words Or pictures can possibly do. People, who know, have stated that this project is tho best, if not the largest, of its kind in the state of Utah. |
