Show DR. M'ELROY DANGEROUSLY ILL Thursday afternoon a report circulated circu-lated on the strtts that Dr. Ruf us L. McElroy, one of Salt Lake's prominent physicians, was dying at Portland, Ore. William Mclntyre and a couple of other oth-er friends took the first train thither when they received intelligence of the doctor's condition. Dr. Mayo, accompanied accom-panied by one of the Holy Cross nurses, also left for Portland Thursday evening. even-ing. Not more than a week ago Dr. Mc- - Elroy made this trip to the coast in : order to recuperate his health, expecting expect-ing to return early in August. The news of his dangerous condition comes with startling suddenness to his many patients and friends in this city, where j he is universally beloved. At the Holy Cross hospital, the sis- I ters are inclined to believe that the aft-. I ernoon report is somewhat exaggerated, although they received direct informa-tion informa-tion from Portland that Dr. McElroy was "dangerously ill." Dr. McElroy is on the hospital staff, and hasTetained nisi position there for a number of years, giving perfect satisfaction to the sisters and the numerous patients under their charge.
