Show Wedding Bells. At the residence of Rt. Rev. Bishop Scanlan last week Miss Bessie McQueen Mc-Queen became the bride of John A Pay ton. The maid of honor was -Miss Laura Newton, and the best man Edward Ed-ward McQueen. Both the young people peo-ple are well known in Salt Lake and a large number of friends wish them al happiness. Society thronged 1 pretty little St Paul's church last Tuesday for th wedding- of Miss Elizabeth Dcrn anc William IT. Cunningham, which took plae at 5 o'clock, Ijtev. Mr. Perkins officiating and the benediction beinf pronounced by Bishoo Leonard. It was an elaborate and beautiful affair ir every way, and al declared it to b one of the pretties weddings for om years in Salt Lake. The church hac been most artistically decorated, th( windows being filled with ilewers. The bride's gown was embroiderec chiffon, with trimmings of real lace the bertha was of point lace, and or the skirt were narrow panels of rea lace. Her tulle veil was clasped, witl a diamond pin, the gift of the groom She carried lilies of the valley tiec with white strands of tulle; her sasl was trimmed with lilies of the valley The maid of honor, Miss Dern, wore gown of white mousselaine de sole with trimmings of lace, white sash and shower bouquet of pink roses, witl streamers of white, and her white chif fon hat was trimmed with white roses The bridesmaids, Miss Alia Miller, Mis: Kerkow of Nebraska, Miss McMillan and Miss Gertrude McGrath, won gowns of white chiffon, with pink chif fon sashes, elbow sleeves, carrie( shower bouquets of pink roses, witl streamers of pink, and their white chif fon hats were trimmed with wreath of tiny pink roses.' Mrs. pern wore A gown of black lao over white, trimmed with real lace Mrs. Haslam of Nebraska,- sister o the. bride, wore a. gown ot black lace Following the ceremony the brida party drove to the residence of Mr. am Mrs. John Dern, - where a delightfu wedding supper w&s given, the guest being limited to those of the party, th relatives and those who have recentl; entertained for Miss Dern. The hov, was elaborately , decorated with quan titles of cut flowers and palms, pinl and green being the colors through out. : The bridal party sat at one larg table and eight smaller tables wer used. The place-cards were in whit and gold , with initials D. and C. .Th menu was a most elaborate one nn served amid much merriment am toasting. Mr. and Mrs. Cunninghan left at 10:50 p. m. for a trip to the Pa cific coast and Alaska, to be awa; about two months. IVth have man; friends in Salt Lake, who wish then all happiness. -. |
