Show PUBLISHER'S ANNOUNCEMENT. 2vext week we will begin the publication of three articles on the early history of Utah 'as recorded re-corded by the acts of the earliest legislative assemblies. as-semblies. Taken in connection , with the letters which have appeared in nr columns during the past several months on the subject of the history of the Catholic church in Utah, this series is of peculiar interesl. The articles have been prepared with a view to historical accuracy, and cover that eriod embraced em-braced between the time of the landing- of the pioneers pio-neers in the Salt Lake valley and the end of the ! administration of Brig-ham Young- as governor of the territory. The story of the establishment of the '"free independent state of Descret" is told, and later, of the establishment of the capital of the territory of Utah at Fillmore City, Millard count v. I There is much of interest and value in the arti- ' elcs, and we trust our readers will frivc them the study their importance deserves. The articles are entirely unprejudiced, and rather than write his 4 own opinion? into them, the author has merely i given the facts as they have been recorded in t4e ' acts of the legislatures of that period.
