Show j GRAND JUNCTION, COLO. (Special Correspondence.) The balance of the new pews have been bought and put in place in St. Joseph's church. This is something of no small importance, and all credit and respeot is due to the Ladies' Aid society socie-ty of St. Joseph's parish, as it was they who worked haM and fact to secure money enough to buy the pews for the new church. Rev. C. Poirier went to Fruita last Saturday and celebrated mass on Sunday, Sun-day, Dec. 8. the Feast of the Immaculate Immacu-late Conception. Cosgrove & Stough are very busy, both in the furniture and undertaking business. Mr. Stough conducted several sev-eral funerals last week. Rev. T. M. Conway is very much improved, im-proved, and on last Sunday he read a most forcible article on mixed marriages, mar-riages, and he did not leave a doubt as to his personal convictions, and to all who heard Father Conway- know well that iu times during his talk on the everlasting mixing that most mar- riages get that there were a few wiio would like to drop into the basement and attend to the heating plant for the rest of the service. However, it was just what we all deserved. Tiie Ladies' Aid society met on Thursday evening of this week at the home of Mrs. William Donnelly. There was a large crowd out. Cards were played and a very nice luncli served by Mrs. Donnelly. |
