Show Obituary. Mrs. Ellen McCann. wife of Michael V. McCann. died on Wednesday evening. even-ing. Dec. 12. at the family home, 1449 South Tremont street. Mrs. McCann was born in New York City nearly seventy years ago. and resided there until 1879. when she came with her husband hus-band to Denver, where ever since they have been prominent in church society. Mrs. McCann was a talented musician and a graduate of the Whittsler music school of Salem. Conn. The funeral took place Saturday morning. Dec. 15, from St. Leo's .church, where Rev. Father O'Ryan sang requiem high mass. TheSacred Heart Ladies' Aid society, of which Mrs. McCann was- a charter member, attended in a body and presented the customary offering, a heart of red roses. Interment was in Mount Calvary cemetery. Besides the husband, Mrs. McCann is survived by seven of her ten children. These are Mrs. J. R. McArthur of Chicago, Mrs. R. E. Myers. Mrs. E. K. Stimson. Mra Fred Fulham. Miss Gertrude McCann, William O. McCann and Frank McCann. Mc-Cann. Mrs. Minnie Ottens. wife of Paul Ot-tens Ot-tens of 1419 South Broadway, was buried bur-ied Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 11, from St. Francis de Sales church. Interment Inter-ment was in Mount Olivet cemetery. Mrs. Mary Bohlmann of 1725 West Thirty-eighth avenue died at her home on Thursday, Dec. 13. Her death was peaceful and quiet, a fitting close to her long and useful life of eighty-two years. The funeral occurred Sunday afternoon from the Church of the Holy Ghost. Curtis and Twentietli streets. Interment was in Mount Calvary cemetery. ceme-tery. Mrs. Bohlmann was the widow of Henry Bohlmann, who died some time ago. and was well known to early settlers in Denver. Michael Dore, the fourteen-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael R. Dore of 1914 East Thirty-sixth avenue, met with a sudden and tragic death Wednesday Wed-nesday evening, Dec. 12. His body was found beside the car track on Larimer and Thirty-fourth streets, about 7 o'clock in the evening, and it is supposed sup-posed he was run over by a tramway car. Michael, was the eldest of four children and was a good, industrious boy. He left his home about 6 o'clock to go to a near-by store and when he did not return shortly his parents spent a terrible night of anxiety for there was no one to identify the body, and it was taken to the morgue, his loved ones remaining in ignorance of his sad fate until noon of the next day. The funeral occurred Sunday afternoon, Dec. 16, from Annunciation church, Rev. Father Wolihan conducting service. ser-vice. Burial was in Mount Olivet cem etery. The sympathy of the congregation of the Cathedral is extended Mrs. Ansteth in the loss of her husband, Andrew Ansteth. whose death from pneumonia occurred on Wednesday, Dec. 12, at the Hillcrest apartments on Marion street and Sixteenth avenue. Mrs. Ansteth has for years been a devout member of the Cathedral parish. The remains of Harry R. DeLeon, who died last week at his home, 3257 Bryant street, were sent for burial to New Orleans, La. Mr. John H. McCarthy of 2717 Downing Down-ing avenue died at his home on Tuesday, Tues-day, Dec. 11. at the age of 4S years. He was buried on Wednesday from Sacred Heart church, where high requiem mass was sung for the repose of his soul. Burial was in Mount Calvary cemetery under ihe auspices of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, of which Mr. McCarthy was for years a popular member. .Mrs. Clan J. Kiely, an active worker in Sacred Heart parish, whose home had for years been at 2920 Blake street, departed de-parted this life on Tuesday, Dec. 11. Her funeral occurred Thursday afternoon after-noon from Sacred Heart church. Burial was in Mount Calvary cemetery. Mrs. Lucy Cody was buried from the Church of the Holy Ghost oil Monday afternoon, Dec. 17. Interment was in Mount Calvary cemetery. |
